One of the biggest rock attractions in the world, Queen + Adam Lambert complete TRNSMT 2018 headliners, joining Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys and The Killers for 5 days of music this summer!
The ultimate destination for world-class music in Scotland this summer, TRNSMT Festival have announced their final 2018 headliners with the addition of one of the most influential and iconic bands of all time, Queen + Adam Lambert, headlining Friday 6th July at Glasgow Green with Texas, The Darkness and The Temperance Movement also confirmed to join the bill.
Queen + Adam Lambert’s critically-acclaimed creative partnership has proved to be a global phenomenon, having played over 130 shows in all corners of the world. Filling stadiums and festivals, Queen + Adam Lambert’s awe-inspiring touring show has drawn across-the board rave notices, most recently hailed by the UK’s Daily Telegraph as “one of the most entertaining nights of rock and roll to be seen and heard anywhere.” Queen + Adam Lambert’s appearance at TRNSMT is the only show the band are to perform in the UK this summer outside of their three earlier sold out London concerts.
The announcement of Friday 6th July’s unmissable line-up confirms TRNSMT Festival 2018’s headliners as Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys, Queen + Adam Lambert, and The Killers with acts such as The Script, Courteeners, Interpol, Texas, CHVRCHES, Wolf Alice, Blossoms, Franz Ferdinand and The Darkness also joining the bill.
Tickets for Friday 6th July will go on-sale this Friday 9th March 2018 from TRNSMTfest.com. Day tickets for Friday 29th June, Saturday 30th June, Friday 6th July and Sunday 8th July are available plus two, three and five day ticket options.
Making their TRNSMT debut and adding the Glasgow Green festival stage to their list of iconic gigs are the incomparable Texas. The pop-rockers released their ninth studio album in 2017, and will play TRNSMT’s Friday 6th July bill in a year which sees them mark over 32 years in the music industry. Proving they can stay the course, Jump On Board saw a band comfortable in their own skin and doing what they do best as iconic frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri and Johnny McElhone showcased their world-class songwriting abilities and a rare kind of longevity in today’s music scene. Their latest album was both a stirring regeneration and emphatic confirmation that Texas write brilliant pop songs and after selling over 40 million records worldwide, their set at TRNSMT will be a true welcome home for the Glasgow legends.
Platinum selling performers and all round rock gods The Darkness join Friday 6th July’s TRNSMT bill, returning to Scotland for a dose of sharp-witted, humorous and flamboyant entertainment. The English four-piece made a welcome return to the music scene in 2017 with the release of their electrifying fifth album Pinewood Smile delivering some of the most brilliant songs of their career, including lead single ‘All The Pretty Girls’. Since bursting on to the scene in 2000, the band have won three Brit Awards, an Ivor Novello Award and opened for the likes of Lady Gaga. Now, revitalised, re-energised and ready to rock once more, The Darkness at TRNSMT will be a true party.
Following a sold-out show at Glasgow’s Barrowlands at the weekend, The Temperance Movement are celebrating immense chart success with latest record ‘A Deeper Cut’ which charted at No.6 in the UK Album Charts. The band’s third studio album also ranked in the top No.1 spot in in Rock and Indie charts. Following a headline slot at Tenement Trail last year, the band will make their TRNSMT Festival debut this summer, bringing their well-crafted rock performance made for the big stage.
Geoff Ellis, Head of DF Concerts said: “We are absolutely delighted to announce the addition of Queen + Adam Lambert to the TRNSMT line-up as the final headliner across the two weekends. As bona fide music legends, Queen + Adam Lambert’s TRNSMT show promises to be a spectacular highlight in Scotland’s music calendar this summer - I’m sure the atmosphere will be electric when they step on stage. Today’s announcement completes the headliners for all five days of TRNSMT Festival, with the rest of the bill being finalised over the coming weeks”.
