Next month’s 4th Glasgow Contemporary Art Fair will feature several local artists and galleries representing a wide range of styles that will appeal to a variety of tastes.

Subversion Gallery, based in Glasgow's West End, specialises in pop and urban art and aims to bring the best in new, distinctive and exclusive works from the most exciting emerging and established artists around, will be featuring a range works from a diverse selection of artists,

Glasgow Print Studio was founded in 1972 as an artist led initiative providing facilities and workshop space to artists using fine art printmaking. Now, as an internationally acclaimed centre of excellence in fine art printmaking, Glasgow Print Studio promotes contemporary and innovative printmaking through supporting artists, exhibitions, learning and conservation.

The Glasgow Gallery is a contemporary art gallery on Bath Street in Glasgow City Centre, which was newly established in 2017. The gallery is exhibiting a mixed range of original work from leading Scottish artists including John Lowrie Morrison (Jolomo), Lex McFadyen, John Bathgate, Margaret Evans and Sandra Moffat.

Also based in Bath Street is Arteries Gallery Glasgow which will feature artists including Alexandra Gardner, Graham Lister, Scott Prentice and Peter Howson.

Scotland Artists main gallery is situated in the picturesque village of Bothwell by the banks of the River Clyde which is a 15 minute drive from Glasgow. They currently have in excess of 500 pieces of original Scottish Art to choose from ranging from some of Scotland’s up most exciting up and coming talent to many internationally acclaimed artists including Gerard Burns, Vicki Dreyer, Andy Hay and Laura Kearney.

Smithy Gallery was established in November 2005. We are a contemporary fine art gallery situated in the beautiful village of Blanefield, just north of Glasgow and twenty minutes from the city centre. Our aim is the promotion of quality art within a beautiful and welcoming setting.

The gallery is housed in the village's original blacksmiths cottage, lovingly restored by Smithy Gallery owner, Natalie Harrison. The blacksmiths, always the centre of the village, has become a much-loved landmark once again. The building itself reflects the quality of the work it holds.

With ever-changing exhibitions, Smithy Gallery is proving to be an attractive draw with tourists and art-lovers coming from miles around to wander through this 300 year old building and enjoy work from some of the finest talent in Scotland, and beyond. With its cosy seating area and wood-burning stove, Smithy Gallery welcomes art-lovers all year round.

Frank Mosley was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He studied at the Glasgow College of Design and thereafter spent nearly 30 years in the UK advertising industry.

For some years a ‘hobby’ painter, his career as an exhibiting artist commenced in 1995 and his works are regularly on view throughout Scotland and can be found hanging in collections in the UK and France.

Working exclusively in acrylics his style is loose, vibrant and colourful. Committed to the belief that original art should be within everyone’s reach, his paintings are intended to be a celebration of affordable art.

The 2018 Glasgow Contemporary Art Fair takes place at the iconic venue on the 11th, 12th and 13th May, featuring quite literally hundreds of galleries, artists and printmakers.

The GCAF is an opportunity for artists and galleries to exhibit and sell contemporary affordable and original art at a centrally located venue, with prices ranging from around £50 to upwards of £10,000. Visitors can expect to see a wonderful range and variety of original art, prints, sculpture and photography while the event will feature established, celebrity, and newly qualified up and coming artists and work especially commissioned for the fair. During the weekend, the public will have the chance to ‘meet and greet’ artists who will be in attendance.

The opening times are as follows – Friday 11th May 6 pm – 9 pm (advance tickets only); Saturday 12th May 10 am – 5.30 pm; Sunday 13th May 10 am – 5 pm.

Entrance fees on the Saturday and Sunday will be just £4 per adult with children under 15 free of charge. For further information, including a full list of exhibitors, visit www.gcaf.co.uk.
