With a full day of panel discussions, practical led workshops, one to one advice sessions and presentations - it’s set to be the biggest RESONATE to date. Contributors including Dame Evelyn Glennie, Adam Stark (Mi.Mu Gloves), Hilary Brooks (SWIM), Kiran Patel (A&G Syncs), Rich Orchard (CD Baby) and Pat Carr (Remote Control Agency) have already been confirmed to appear in the 2019 programme.
The music conference will close with a celebration of Scotland’s diverse, strong and valuable live scene and new to this year, RESONATE is opening up submissions so artists around the country have the chance to perform at the event. Artists can submit one track along with background biography, accolades and reasons why performing at RESONATE would benefit their career. Using data storage platform DISCO, applicants will be able to directly send MP3 or WAV files to the RESONATE Music Industry profile - these will then be passed on to an independent panel of judges who will select the winning six acts to perform on Thursday 14th November at BAaD, in the heart of the East End. Interested applicants can send their submissions by clicking here.
In previous years - performers such as ONR, Lizzie Reid, Declan Welsh & The Decadent West, Carla J. Easton, Luna The Professor, The Nickajack Men, Makeness and Kate Kyle amongst others have taken to the stage as part of RESONATE Live, performing in front of some of the most significant figures in the industry.
Kate Kyle (Singer/Songwriter - Shortlisted for BBC Radio Scotland’s Singer/Songwriter Award 2019) said: “Performing at RESONATE Live 2018 was an amazing experience. The opportunity to showcase my own songwriting in front of an audience that included a long list of individuals, working and promoting the finest of the UK music industry - you don’t get that kind of platform every day.”
RESONATE Live will be a fitting end to a packed day of opportunities for collaboration, creativity, accessibility, development and artist inclusion, the staple focuses for the 2019 conference. The evening event taking place after RESONATE will be open to the public, stay tuned for tickets!
