About The RSPB at Kelvingrove

Kelvingrove is a hub for the RSPBs’ ‘Giving Nature a Home in Glasgow’ project. Family events are held every weekend in the Wildlife Galleries. Explore various wildlife themes and join in craft activities and trails.

Saturday 9 November and Sunday 10 November: Due South
1-4pm
Price: Suggested Donation £1

Autumn is upon us, and our migratory birds are leaving for their intrepid journey south to warmer climates. Join us to learn about these amazing travellers and take part in our activities.

Saturday 16 November and Sunday 17 November: Sleepy Creatures
1-4pm
Price: £5/£3 for members for workshop

From hedgehogs to ladybirds, bats to bumblebees, a huge variety of creatures hibernate over the winter months. Come along to take part in our activities and learn about these sleepy creatures. You can also join our workshop to learn more about how to help hedgehogs where you life with RSPB, and meet rescue hedgehogs from Hessilhead rescue centre.

Saturday 23 November and Sunday 24 November: Urban Wildlife

Animals have learned to live alongside humans and are often seen around our gardens. Come along to learn about what wildlife has adapted to life in our towns and cities and take part in our activities.

Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December: Garden Birds in Winter

Price: Suggested Donation £1

With their food much scarcer in the winter, our garden birds appreciate some extra food currently of year. Join us for our birdie activities and to learn about how we can help our feathered friends survive during our coldest months.

Saturday 11 January and Sunday 12 January: Animals on the Ice

Price: Suggested Donation £1

In the harsh grip of winter food for our wildlife can be scarce and survival can be a struggle. Join us to learn about how animals have adapted to survive this time of year and take part in our themed activities.

Saturday 18 January and Sunday 19 January: Scotland's Nature
1-4pm

Scotland has amazing habitats and wildlife. From our Scottish Wildcats, Pine Martens, right down to our Natterjack toads. Join RSPB Scotland to learn all about our fantastic landscape & join in our themed activity.

Saturday 25 January and Sunday 26 January: Big Garden Birdwatch
1-4pm

It’s that time again, time for the Big Garden Birdwatch! Join us and learn all about the history, the importance and ways to get involved with the BGBW so we can all help nature. We will also have themed activities for families.
