Although we are celebrating revolutionaries, some composers prove that revolution is not the only path to success. Max Bruch resisted the many exciting musical developments that occurred during his long life, from serialism to the birth of jazz, composing in a resolutely German Romantic style for his entire life, yet his Violin Concerto No.1 has remained one of the most beloved pieces in the repertoire since its premiere.
This exciting year culminates with a performance of the complete Alexander Borodin’s Second Symphony, marking only the second time that NYOS Junior Orchestra has performed an entire symphony.
Guiding the Junior Orchestra through this wonderful programme is maestro Catherine Larsen-Maguire, who returns to NYOS after conducting the Senior Orchestra in 2018.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for NYOS Junior Orchestra Summer Concert are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
