About Items of Interest

Join our knowledgeable guides for a selection of illustrated talks this spring and discover some of Pollok’s surprising secrets.

Our expert guides like to share their knowledge of our magnificent house and history as often as they can. You’ll spend Friday afternoons captivated by talks including the Spanish Inquisition; the Witches of Pollok; the Rise and Fall of the Spanish Habsburgs; and Catherine the Great and the Boy from Pollokshaws.

Talks begin at 2pm on every Friday, running from 28 February until 3 April.

28 February: The Spanish Inquisition
6 March: A Lad o’ Pairts – John Stirling Maxwell’s life and times
13 March: Rise and Fall of the House of Habsburg – Philip of Spain and Anna of Austria
20 March: Catherine the Great and the Boy from Pollokshaws
27 March: The Witches of Pollok
3 April: The Swaggering Archie Stirling, Soldier

Simply select the talk you wish to attend by choosing the matching event date.
Pre-booking is advised.
