Fused glass candle shades provide a variety of coloured light as the flame flickers and moves. These are often called handkerchief shades because of the shape the glass takes while on the mould. Bright or subtle colours can be used in making the square blank.
You will make a small group of square blanks decorated according to your own design with glass pieces and powders. On the Sunday morning, you will remove the blanks from the kiln, do any work required on the piece and set up the kiln for the drape. All the participants will then watch the drape until complete.
All tools and materials will be provided. Protective eyewear and aprons will be provided also. Wear closed toe shoes to avoid glass shards in your feet. The kiln firings are included in the price. No previous experience required. This class will be held on Sat. February 23rd from 10:00 to 16:00 and Sun. February 24th from 10:00 – 13:00
