About Clyde Cruising Club Dinghy Section Open Day - CANCELLED

We would love to welcome you to our Club. Anyone can get on the water at Bardowie Loch (G62 6EX) with the free open day held by Clyde Cruising Club's Dinghy Section. Have a spin on a powerboat, or perhaps be shown the ropes on one of our sail boats if the weather is good. Find out about our facilities and what you can do, with coffee and cake while you chat to our experienced sailors.

We are currently running evening classes for adults and juniors (aged 8 and above), and there are places available for our popular summer school, which is a great way to spend time during the holidays while learning a sport that the whole family can enjoy together.

Classes are approved by the Royal Yachting Association and Summer School is available throughout July and the first two weeks of August, with each course running from Monday to Friday, 10am till 4pm. Children can then put their new skills to the test at the end of the Summer holidays by racing in the Junior Regatta.

Bardowie is a member of the RYA Sailability scheme that is designed to encourage young people and adults with disabilities to take part in the sport on equal terms with able-bodied sailors.

The dinghy sailing section at Bardowie Loch has been running for over 80 years as part of the Clyde Cruising Club, and has a fleet of 80 boats including Challenger trimarans and Hansa Access dinghies for sailors who have physical challenges. The club house opened in 2004 and provides a warm and comfortable shore base, including disabled access.
