Doors Open Days: Traditional Crafts Open House at the Lighthouse
Sorry you are too late, this event has been and gone!
Join Glasgow City Heritage Trust at The Lighthouse as they demonstrate traditional building skills such as woodworking, stone carving, plastering, slating, stained glass, and stencilling!
About Doors Open Days: Traditional Crafts Open House at the Lighthouse
Traditional building skills are the foundation of looking after our built heritage. Crafts like woodworking, stone carving, plastering, slating, stained glass, and stencilling don’t just keep our buildings in good repair – they’re fun too!
Join us in Gallery 2 for hands on activities and demonstrations of all these skills. Participants of all ages will be able to carve their initials in limestone, cut a scarf joint, dress roofing slates, cut glass, and mould a plaster ornament.
Craftspeople and instructors from Glasgow’s colleges will lead participants through activities, talk to them, and demonstrate traditional building skills. A range of activities will be available appropriate for both adult and young audiences alike.
Free to attend, no booking required! For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org
