The night aims to show a fun way to save food while thinking seriously about the amount that goes to waste.
What is a Aperitivo?
An Aperitivo (or apéritif) is an Italian tradition often described as being similar to happy hour, but in reality, it’s much more than that. An Aperitivo is a pre-meal drink specifically meant to whet your appetite.
Why host a Disco Aperitivo?
Today, one-third of the food produced for our consumption is wasted. It is being fed to bins. Saving 25% of this would be enough to feed 870 million hungry people in the world, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). We all care about this big problem and we want to change this. Filling bellies, instead of bins! It’s not just about telling you to not to waste food, but also celebrate when you do save food.
What to expect?
We will be serving up a delicious vegan meal using surplus food from our restaurant to highlight and help fight food waste. There will also be an ethical quiz hosted by Compassion Glasgow on the night with amazing prizes to be won so remember to bring your team.
Ticket £6 includes
The first drink ( including soft drink, a glass of wine or beer)
Access to the buffet.
Tickets on the door will be £8 *subject to availability*
We look forward to meeting you all for a night full of laughs, drinks, music and great food with even better company all while helping reduce food waste.
