Egyptology Scotland lecture: Egyptian Delta Gods and their Cult Centres
Sorry you are too late, this event has been and gone!
Egyptology Scotland welcome you to join them on October 19th for their latest lecture at Kelvingrove, 'Egyptian Delta Gods and their Cult Centres'!
About Egyptology Scotland lecture: Egyptian Delta Gods and their Cult Centres
Lecture by Dr Penny Wilson, Associate Professor in the Department of Archaeology, University of Durham.
The Egyptian gods of Lower Egypt reflect the different environments of the Nile Delta. Some of the gods were closely connected to large urban centres such as Buto and Sais, others to the agricultural, desert and marshy hinterlands, while others such as Osiris became central to Egyptian mythology. The talk will explore the changing character of religious life in Egypt by looking at the changing fortunes of the Delta gods and their myths.
