A 6-week screen-printing class aimed at beginners and refreshers which will build your confidence in this amazing process and further develop your skills and techniques particularly in creating stencils, mixing printing inks, perfecting registration and troubleshooting.
Week 1: Examples of screen-prints, looking at different techniques and processes. Demonstration in printing. Discussing ideas for potential works and planning for the following week.
Week 2: Begin separating out artwork into individual layers, begin printing first layer.
Week 3: Printing of layers mixing colours, registration, working together to print with squeegee and furthering understanding of transparency/opacity mixing of colour.
Week 4: Printing layers, mixing colour and registration.
Week 5: Completing final prints.
Week 6: If final piece is completed then using time to try mono-printing including blending or direct painting. Finishing with works on wall and a class discussion.
