During a career spanning more than 30 years, the renowned Breton singer Annie Ebrel has collaborated across numerous styles and genres, from jazz to musical theatre.
Breton singing, rooted in the dance-oriented kan ha diskan tradition, nonetheless remains at the heart of her artistry, stunningly showcased in her powerhouse quartet with Ronan Pellen on cittern, Daravan Souvanna on fretless bass and Clement Dallot on keyboards.
Originally dating back to the 1990s, the duo of Kornog and Pennoù Skoulm co-founder Jean-Michel Veillon – credited with introducing the wooden flute into Breton music – and guitarist Yvon Riou remain one of Brittany’s foremost traditional acts, whose music also incorporates Irish and Scottish elements.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Annie Ebrel Quartet with Jean-Michel & Yvon Riou are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
