Taking place in the courtyard from 1-4pm, this year’s musical entertainment is courtesy of the Reelie Jiggered Ceilidh Band – a four-piece band from Glasgow who have been together for over 10 years – they guarantee that you’ll go home with a skip in your stride and a smile on your face.
Don’t worry if you are feeling a bit rusty and haven’t done Scottish country dancing since school, each dance is ‘called’ and you’ll get to run through the steps before you hit the dance floor. There is no booking required, just turn up and get your dancing shoes on!
Katie Moody from Princes Square said: “Ceilidh in the Courtyard is a fantastic FREE event for all the family and a great way of celebrating the birthday of our national poet. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone donning their tartan and slipping on their dancing shoes to join the jigging gents and dancing lassies in true Glaswegian style! If you’d rather sit back and watch the ceilidh in action, you can enjoy lunch and drinks in one of our restaurants.”
With over 25 retailers and 12 eateries, Princes Square is Glasgow’s premier shopping destination. Located in the heart of the city’s bustling Buchanan Street, the mall provides a shopping haven to lovers of high street and designer fashion, beauty, jewellery, homewares and lifestyle brands while its wide range of bars, restaurants and cafes offers something for every palate.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
