We will gather at the Donald Dewar statue at the top of Buchanan Street, Glasgow, in front of the Concert Hall steps at 10.30 pm on Friday 31st January.
Our evening will kick off with a "fun event" remembering some of the dubious "facts" that have distorted the Brexit debate over the years. This will be light-hearted - you may wish to dig out your favourite fibs!
Between 10.30 and 11.00 we will have a torchlit gathering singing Ode to Joy and Auld Lang Syne.
Please bring along a torch - (no flames!) or a mobile phone so we can send a message to Europe - "Leave a Light on For Us", reflecting the words of previous MEP, now MP, Alyn Smith, requesting the EU to leave the door ajar for Scotland.
During Auld Lang Syne we will remember our "Auld Acquaintances" from across the EU and we hope to reach out to them. They are indeed "auld acquaintances" as the United Kingdom's membership of the European Community came into effect on 1 January 1973; 47 years ago!
We will always be Europeans, and we are determined to keep our links with Europe strong and are keen to celebrate what unites us. Please join us to celebrate our openness, our friendships across borders and our shared culture.
Glasgow Loves EU is not aligned to any political party - we believe passionately that Scotland's interests are best served by collaborating closely with our European Neighbours.
