Wee yins will be welcomed to the free event, located outside Boots on Burns’ birthday where they can enjoy a selection of The Bard’s best loved stories and poems, recited theatrically by resident story-teller Jock, from 11am to 3pm.

Home to over 90 retailers, including Edinburgh Woollen Mill and Glasgow Museum Store, the leading retail and leisure centre is proud of its’ Scottish heritage. This is highlighted by the ‘Waterfall of Words’, a list of old Scots words and phrases, which can be seen throughout the mall, also known as ‘The Glasgow Greenhouse’. As part of your Burns’ celebrations while in centre, have a wander around and wonder at your favourite Scots’ words - or try and guess what the lesser known phrases translate as.
The family friendly event is free to attend, but donations are encouraged towards St. Enoch Centre’s chosen charities Glasgow Children’s Hospital and Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
Anne Ledgerwood, general manager at St. Enoch Centre, said: “St. Enoch Centre has many ties to Scottish heritage and history so it’s only fitting that we join in with celebrations to honour Robert Burns on his birthday. We look forward to marking the day with our shoppers, enjoying some of Burns’ world famous stories and traditional Scottish treats from our retailers.”
