Cohen Art Painting On Glass Exhibition
Celebrating the 2020 Year of Scottish Coast & Waters
I really LOVE January, there are so many wonderful things happening. Not only is it my birthday month, the Wolf Full Moon was an eclipse, it’s 2020, a brand new decade, the burning of the Clavie & Hogmanay festivities ring in the New Year with style. Of course it’s not all glamorous, let’s not forget it’s also tax season, the winter winds are relentless, and days are so short we hardly see the sun. This being said, in Glasgow it’s compensated by the hot & sweaty dancing nights of Celtic Connections. January nights become vibrant & joyful as thousands of visitors descend on the city. All eager to feast on the sounds of traditional music from across the globe. For many years I’ve gone out on all night boogie sessions, but now I’m proud to announce that this year my exhibition is part of the festival.
Many of you will know, 2020 is the Scottish Year of Coast & Waters, which lends itself perfectly to my landscape artwork. Each piece focuses on the diverse coastline around our beautiful country. There is some of the local wildlife thrown in there too. Each glass painting has its own unique whisky cask frame.
You can view the artwork between now and the end of March at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall cafe area. I’ll be posting pictures of new work as the months go on. This invite is for the preview day, a chance to come and meet me and ask questions about the artwork. Throughout the afternoon you’ll hear a variety of local musicians playing in a traditional Scottish session. All of the artwork, prints and merchandise will be available for purchase... plus, if you are whisky fan, Kingsbarns Distillery will be there with a dram for you to sample from 1pm.
Find the beauty of winter, celebrate with me and wipe away your January blues.
If you love trad music like I do, visit the Celtic Connections website for tickets, and the Visit Scotland website for a full year of Coast & Water events.
