Join Pollok House for a day of tours, talks and an interactive workshop to explore the experiences of Scottish women throughout history, from Mary, Queen of Scots to Pollok's local witch trials.

About International Women’s Day

*Please be advised that admission to the house is also required to be purchased on the day for all non-NTS members*

Projections workshop:12–3pm
Put yourself in the shoes (or gloves!) of the women from Pollok House’s past. Using our green screen, the team will help you to project your own amazing creations onto the walls, furniture, or anywhere really!

Tours/talks:
11am – Caroline Norton: An exceptional woman
11.30am – Thou Shalt Not Suffer a Witch to Live: The truth of persecution and injustice behind Scotland’s infamous witch trials
2pm – Lady Hannah Maxwell and her scrapbooks
2.30pm – Mary, Queen of Scots and the Maxwells of Pollok: Exploring the connections
3pm – Rights, (W)rongs and Responsibilities: A short exploration of women’s matrimonial and parental rights/responsibilities in Scotland from Victorian times to the present day

We recommend that you book a ticket for the relevant time slot for all individual tours/talks you wish to attend. Some spaces may be available on the day, depending on popularity. Please present your e-mail confirmation on arrival at Pollok House. NTS members should present their membership cards. Non-NTS members must purchase house admission. House admission costs are as follows:

The projection workshop is a drop-in session, so tickets do not need to be booked.
