The event will consist of an introductory talk from Campus Director Tommy Wylie, followed by a taster workshop with Programme Coordinator for Games Programming & Web Development, Karsten Vermeulen. Karsten will provide an overview of the Games Programming degree, which he currently teaches at SAE London, as the course will be launching at SAE Glasgow in September due to high levels of demand. Under his expert guidance, you will get a chance to get hands- on and create a sprite-based 2D game using C++ and the same core skill set that will be enhanced over the course of SAE’s 2-year Games Programming degree programme.
Following the taster session, lunch will be provided, and there will be an opportunity for your parents/ guardians to ask our friendly campus support staff and teaching teams any questions they may have about higher education, student finance or student support.
After lunch, you and your guests will get a chance to hear from talented members of the gaming industry with a panel discussion, with speakers including award-winning SAE graduate Omar Khan, representatives from the local BAFTA award-winning entertainment studio Blazing Griffin and gaming guru Gary Marley, who has 523,000+ YouTube followers on his channel MarleyThirteen, and Jordan Davidson from CodeClan.
