The 4-day stained glass course is designed for total beginners to design & create a stained glass panel (40cm x 40cm). I ensure the course is fun, while also giving you the chance to learn a new skill.
I keep the stained glass classes small, to make sure it's easy to give everyone as much input as is required. There is a 2m gap between all work-stations, to help maintain social distancing. We also provide visors (or you can wear your own mask), and there is lots & lots of hand sanitiser. All equipment & materials are disinfected before the start of each day.
You don't need to bring any materials, as everything required to design & create the stained glass panel is provided. The only thing you need to wear are closed shoes (e.g. no sandals), and to bring some lunch. We can also arrange lunch at a small cost, if required.
During the first day, you'll create a design, then cut the glass. We usually provide designs / patterns, but you can also bring your own. We can discuss this prior to the course. On the second day, you'll learn some of the techniques required for painting on glass & there will be some time for practice. In the afternoon, you'll start painting your own design & this will continue into the third day. On the last day, you'll do the leadwork, soldering, cementing, and then brushing & polishing the glass. Finally, you'll fit the chain & you can take your stained glass panel away with you.
Buying as a gift? Just select the most appropriate date and, if that turns out not to be suitable, the recipient can simply reschedule over the phone or by email (we just need 2 weeks' notice).
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Stained Glass Workshop: 4 Days are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
