Study of critical theory has long been confined to the academy, with a lack of mainstream engagement outside of universities and a frequent density often rendering it inaccessible.
FEARY: A Theory Reading Group sets out to democratise access to theoretical material - in particular, texts concerned with feminism and gender - through monthly reading groups at Glasgow Zine Library. The group aims to be a welcoming and supportive space in which to discuss and demystify theory and take a relatively informal approach to our meetings.
Over the course of our groups, FEARY hopes to traverse and encounter many of the vast - and often contradictory - strains of feminist and gender theory. From month to month, we'll read diversely and widely, covering 'classics' as well as underground texts.
All are welcome. Down with academic elitism!
This month, we’ll be reading: TO BE ANNOUNCED
The event is free but ticketed - donations are always welcome
