THE Helensburgh Winter Festival Penguin is doing a little happy dance... he WILL be able to come out to play this year after all.
The Winter Festival which has been part of the Helensburgh and Lomond Festive Season since 2012 has been cancelled this year because of the restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, the organisers are happy to announce that the scheduled Festival weekend, Sat 28th and Sun 29th of Nov, will be filled with an online extravaganza of entertainment and an online Christmas Market.
Instead of its usual two days of fun in and around Colquhoun Square in Helensburgh Town Centre, the Festival is moving online and will be held over the usual weekend via our website, and our social media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
The programme of events is being worked on but Penguin Crew have been promised a personal message to the children of Helensburgh and Lomond from Santa Claus and they will be asking youngsters aged 12 yrs and under to take part in the annual penguin painting competition.
The Penguin Crew will also be looking for volunteers to send in videos for the entertainment section of the Festival and will be offering local businesses and crafters who normally take part in the market to showcase their wares at the online event.
Local businesses who would like to participate in our Online Market or who wish to provide cooking or cocktail demos, recipes, etc. or entertainers who wish to take part in the way of pre-recorded videos or Facebook or Instagram Live performances, should contact the organisers at: firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
