From meeting on their first day at Glasgow School of Art, this is the exhibition that was always going to happen.
Artists Madeleine Hand and Lex McFadyen met on their first day at Art School and have remained firm friends ever since. They have exhibited in the same shows, both in the UK and France, but this is the first time the pair have collaborated on their own large scale, two artist exhibition.
The Glasgow Gallery, in the heart of the city, is the ideal space to show their formidable works being just a stone’s throw from where the pair first met. McFadyen’s oils reflect the influence of his two studios, on the Crinan Canal in Argyll and in the medieval village of Noyers sur Serein in Burgundy France. Hand’s work is strongly inspired by the beautiful countryside surrounding her home in Perthshire.
A real treat for the opening weekend of this major exhibition will be the opportunity to meet with the two artists on both the Saturday and Sunday.
