It’s going to be a Christmas cracker of a night!
The ever-popular at-home party, Gin & Jammies at home, has been given a festive make-over and will be broadcast online as Gin-gle & Jammies on Friday 4 December at 7pm.
It will be hosted by the fantastically flamboyant Edward Reid. There will be singing and cocktail-making and of course Edward’s own unique brand of hosting. We will also be highlighting a selection of amazing gifts that will be available on our Christmas auction.
The event, sponsored by Speirs Gumley, will be broadcast through YouTube to registered guests. People will be able to enjoy all their favourite songs, bid for exclusive Gin-gle & Jammies gift baskets, all while enjoying their favourite gin tipple in the comfort of their own homes. People can register for just themselves or they can host a virtual party with their friends while our host entertains them.
The hospice’s annual event regularly sees almost 300 people attending a glittering afternoon of fun-filled Jammie-clad frolics. However, with many nights-out having to remain nights-in due to the pandemic, The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is offering the best night-in around.
Rhona Baillie, Chief Executive of The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, explains: “We ran our first-ever virtual Gin & Jammies in April of this year and it proved so popular we wanted to bring it back. Our supporters really got into the spirit of the night – gin flavoured of course, and had a brilliant time in their jammies from their own homes.
“We are hoping that this Christmas-themed event will prove to be a cracker and be ever bigger and better than the first. I am delighted that Edward has agreed to be our virtual host for the second time. He regularly hosts our main Gin & Jammies event and is a true star. He will bring his own inimitable entertainment style direct into our supporters’ homes, all while they’re having a party virtually with their friends.
“COVID has had an impact on each and every one of us but we hope that we can help people forget about their daily trials and enjoy a night-in while helping raise funds for Glasgow’s Hospice.
“We are asking people to help support us at the hospice where we are caring for people at the end of their lives and those living with terminal illness. All we ask is people donate a small amount to help raise funds so we can continue caring for our patients with life-limiting illnesses.”
