Equally at home with traditional piping, contemporary folk music and composition, Steven Blake has built a diverse career; performing as a member of RURA, running multi-genre youth music projects and composing & arranging contemporary instrumental music. Exploring concepts of home and place, Steven's New Voices commission uses found sounds and samples to weave lush textures around a simple, raw piano spine.
Joining Steven will be Sorren Maclean (guitar), Seonaid Aitken, Alice Allen, Hannah Fisher and Patsy Reid, (strings), James Lindsay (bass), and John Lowrie (drums and samples).
