Join us as we race to raise a goal of £1million to help build two new Social Bite villages in two new cities in the UK. Our key city targets for the new villages are Glasgow and London.
Break the Cycle is a charity cycling event taking place on Sunday 5th September 2021. We’ll be setting off from the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow and pedalling 60 miles with Sir Chris Hoy across Scotland’s central belt, crossing the finish line in Edinburgh – just along from our flagship Social Bite Village in Granton.
Not only will Social Bite be hosting a live event, but people right across the UK will be able to take part in their own virtual challenges too.
THE LIVE EVENT
If you’re a keen cyclist and feel comfortable with a £1000 fundraising target, you can sign up to the official Break the Cycle event with Sir Chris Hoy, taking place on Saturday, 5th September 2021.
All participants will receive a digital Training Guide and Fundraising Pack, and a Break the Cycle Rider Pack in the post. Each pack contains a unique bib number, a cycling top, and all the information needed to keep riders safe and on track come event day.
There is an initial donation of £50 and a minimum fundraising target of £1000 per person (including matched giving).
THE VIRTUAL CHALLENGE
Join thousands of others taking part in the campaign virtually. Whether it’s 60 miles, 60 days, or 60 minutes of exercise, you can still join us in the race to raise £1million to truly Break the Cycle of homelessness.
Wherever you are and whatever you do, we’re asking you to pick a challenge and get sponsored. Your virtual challenge can be done in your local outdoors or even in the comfort of your own home. All of the money you raise will contribute to the same great causes as the live cycling event.
There is no initial donation required and no minimum fundraising target.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
