Tales from Gaeldom’s Past: Gaelic Historical Crime Fiction

About Tales from Gaeldom’s Past: Gaelic Historical Crime Fiction

In Iain Finlay’s sixth novel Hiort, a murder takes place on St Kilda, a remote Scottish island evacuated over 90 years ago. DI Cameron and pathologist Kate St John are called on to investigate. This fast-paced modern mystery is interwoven with historical accounts of life on St Kilda at the start of the 20th Century.
Calum’s second novel, Fon Choill, follows the true story of Donald Morrison, the Megantic Outlaw, born in Canada to parents from Lewis, who went on the run accused of murder and tried to clear his name.

Thig còmhla ri Maureen NicLeòid is i a’ bruidhinn ri Calum L. MacLeòid agus Iain F. MacLeòid mu na nobhailean ùra aca.

San siathamh nobhail le Iain Fionnlagh, Hiort, thèid corp a lorg a tha coltach gun tàinig e bho Hiort, eilean beag iomallach far an do dh’fhàg na daoine còrr is 90 bliadhna air ais. Thèid iarraidh air D.I. Cameron rannsachadh a dhèanamh. ‘S e sgeulachd stèidhichte san latha an-diugh a th’ innte, ach le beatha na Hiortach mar a bhiodh e aig toiseach an 20mh linn air fhigheadh a-steach.

Tha an dàrna leabhar aig Calum L. MacLeòid, Fon Choill, a’ leantainn fìor-sgeul beatha Dhòmhnaill Mhoireasdan, Am Megantic Outlaw, a rugadh ann an Canada do phàrantan à Leòdhas, a theich nuair a chaidh chasaid muirt a thoirt air agus a dh’fheuch air a neoichiontachd a nochdadh.
