SMOOVE & TURRELL - are a British group hailing from Gateshead in the North East of England. The Georgdie soul crew play a style of music they describe as "Northern Funk" - a contemporary fusion of funk, soul, northern soul, hip-hop and electronica.
BIG BOSS MAN - formed in 1998 when three long-time friends Nasser Bouzida, Trev Harding and Scott Milsom, got together to form the (mostly) instrumental based group centred around some furious Hammond and heavy groove action.
SHAKA LOVES YOU - “Dancefloor-friendly party rockers” are just two of the credits awarded to Glasgow duo Shaka Loves You.
“If you don't like these guys, just throw away your ears” - Craig Charles (BBC Radio 2 / 6 Music)
DJ’s
ANDY SMITH (ex Portishead) the first DJ to release a multi-genre mix album on a major label. His seminal mix-CD The Document hit the streets back in 1998 and became the soundtrack for a generation
NICK PEACOCK - Nick is true Glasgow DJ royalty, he was a Sub Club resident before the Sub Club was even the Sub Club! Nick has kept his head down and has been long standing resident of the Buff Club, happy to keep playing the music he loves to the crowds he knows.
MARK ROBB - Mark Robb is one of Glasgow’s most illustrious Funk & Soul DJs. He is the man behind the original Buff Club, Buff Records, Starla Records and the Rio Café. Mark’s self-professed career high is supporting James Brown live from the o2 Academy
PAUL MOLLOY - Co-founder and resident at Friday St events celebrating 21 yrs, this year, vinyl obsessive who developed a passion for records as a teenage mod. Spinning classic and contemporary Soul, Funk, Acid Jazz and (proper) RnB
