Have you ever wanted to learn how to repair your clothes? Do you have a shirt that needs some TLC? Or a pair of jeans with one too many holes?
In this online workshop via zoom our textile repair technician will teach you how to repair your garments whilst adding colour using bright threads. You have the option of your repair to stand out by using a different colour of thread, or make the repair almost invisible by matching the thread to the item.
This workshop is accessible to sewing beginners and any size hole can be repaired.
What do I need to join the workshop?
A sewing needle, A spare piece of fabric 3cm bigger in all directions than the hole. Preferably of the same quality of fabric. eg. denim for jeans, jersey for t-shirts. Colour is not important if you prefer an invisible mend. Thread. Preferably something a bit thicker than sewing thread. Alternatively, use two strands of sewing thread together. Example: 2 strands of cotton embroidery thread, which comes in small hanks. It needs to fit in your sewing needle.
Optional: a few sewing pins, contrasting thread for holding the patch in place, something rounded to-keep under the patch such as an apple, a ladle or darning egg/mushroom.
We will send you out details of the session, including the zoom link the week of the event. This event is ticketed because there is limited space so if you can't attend please let us know at least 3 days in advance. If you have any questions regarding the workshop or the item you wish to repair, get in touch with LC on hello@remade.network , feel free to send pictures of your item so we can get a better idea of what we are repairing together.
