About Oot N Aboot

Get Oot n Aboot in the Burns Cottage Smallholding this Summer! This event will go ahead in all weathers so please make sure to dress appropriately!

Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Booking essential! Suitable for ages 5-12.

9th August:- Wee Beasties and Den Building
‘Bring your wee beasties to this fun bug hunting session, then learn how to build a den in the woods!’ Please wear appropriate clothing for the outdoors.

11th August:– Lucky Chuckies!
Learn the ancient art of pebble painting; make your lucky chuckie look like a wee beastie! (chuckies supplied!) Please wear appropriate clothing for the outdoors.

12th August:– Couthy Craturs and Den Building
Take a walk in the woods at Burns Cottage, follow the animal trail and learn the Scots names for some of our common creatures and plants. Please wear appropriate clothing for the outdoors.

17th August:– Woodland Crowns
Come on a ramble and collect greenery to decorate a crown; watch your wee one turn into the King or Queen of the Woods! Please wear appropriate clothing for the outdoors.

19th August:– Nature’s Palette Treasure Hunt and Bug Hunt
Take a wander around our smallholding to discover the colours of nature and then take part in a bug safari for beasties! Please wear appropriate clothing for the outdoors.

23rd August:- Wee Beasties and Den Building
25th August:– Couthy Craturs and Den Building
27th August:– Woodland Crowns
