Interested in applying to the Partick and Thornwood Ideas Fund? Have any questions or problems about the application process? Come along and receive guidance about the process and whether your idea may meet the requirements. We're here to help!
Partick and Thornwood Ideas Fund is a Participatory Budgeting (PB) initiative funded by the Scottish Government Investing in Communities fund. PB is a democratic way for local people to have a direct say on how public money is spent in their community. The following video explain how it works:
Residents (individuals or groups) can apply to fund an idea that will the local area and grants range from £150 to £1,000. Ideas are limitless but must benefit the local community. And in turn residents can cast three votes for their favourite ideas. A steering group led by Annexe Communities was formed in 2020 consisting of representatives of community councils, local churches, residents and Partick Housing Association. The group decides on the format and process of each round of funds – ensuring applications are accessible to all who are eligible.
Previous ideas have included activities for a sheltered housing complex, running costs for men’s groups, equipment for outdoor growing projects, vital equipment for art and knitting groups. Individual ideas included an LGBTQ project and reiki training manuals!
Applications will open on the 1st of September so start thinking of your idea!
