The band was established in 2015 originally by Sara and Junbug (hence the name of the band) but with new members being introduced over time and drawing influence from pop, country, folk and rock music, the sound of the band has developed into an original and exciting take on modern pop music.
The band pride themselves on creating music that comes from the heart - writing meaningful and emotional songs inspired by real-life experiences that connect with listeners of all ages - as well as being entirely responsible for their own successes with no input from management or labels.
In October 2019, Sara and Junbug from the band featured on 'Emeli Sandé's Street Symphony' on BBC Scotland and BBC One, performing Emeli's recent single, 'Shine', alongside her and the BBC SSO as well as performing their own recently released single, 'Piece by Piece'. This feature led to them supporting Emeli during the Scottish dates of her 'Real Life' UK tour - near sold out shows taking place in Usher Hall (Edinburgh) and the SEC Armadillo (Glasgow).
