Take a Walk on the Weill Side celebrates the biting satire and wit of Kurt Weill’s music, brought to life by celebrated chanteuse Taylor Wilson. This Berliner Cabaret is set in 1930’s war-torn Europe, following the story of every-woman ‘Jenny’ and how she manipulates events around the men she loves and leaves.
Take a Walk on the Weill Side celebrates triumphant and fatalistic stories in song created by Weill and Brecht, of their many fictional Jenny characters…cruel, calculating, vulnerable. Classics Mack the Knife, Alabama Song and Pirate Jenny feature with multi instrumentalist trio The Schadenfreude Band, with music director Karen MacIver.
