4 week course on Tuesdays - Nov 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd
Buddhist meditation teaches us how to find pure happiness, whatever our circumstances, by creating space and freedom in our mind. This course explores how true happiness is possible and explains the practices that lead to pure happiness. We will learn how to identify the deep-seated cause of our problems and how to train our mind in the three higher trainings of discipline, concentration and wisdom. Following this training we will be liberated from all negativities and experience deep and lasting inner peace.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced meditator, the meditations taught on this course are essential for finding the path to pure happiness.
The course is based on How to Understand the Mind, a practical guide that offers deep insights into the nature and functions of the mind. It explains how to develop and maintain a light and positive mind through recognising and abandoning states of mind that harm us, and replacing them with peaceful and beneficial ones. It concludes with a detailed explanation of meditation, showing how by controlling and transforming our mind we can attain a lasting state of joy, independent of external conditions.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
