Do you think that the voices of young people in Glasgow have been included enough in discussions about COP26 and climate activism?
Would you like to make your own poster or banner using recycled materials to express your views?
The Bold Collective Presents: Collage for Climate Action with visual and socially engaged artist Jade Sturrock.
No experience necessary!
This workshop will explore using collage as a way to visually communicate messages you would like to get across about the climate emergency. The workshop will take place during COP26 and will be an opportunity to come together, reflect and discuss on which issues young people are concerned about, and the role of artists in being activists and campaigners.
We’ll use found and recycled materials from magazines and newspapers to create imagery which sends a message about climate change and the future of the planet for younger generations. You are encouraged to use found imagery to create their own ideal visions and messages, rather than the ones prescribed to us.
We'll also take a look at some famous collage works and some question prompts for inspiration.
Talk Shops are for those ages 16-24, and are free to attend thanks to our National Lottery funding programme.
Materials and snacks will be provided and we can also reimburse you for travel costs. If you have any accessibly needs please contact Cat Tyre (cat@glasgowcan.org) and we will do our best to support you.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
