About Nae Plans Extravaganza
“The plan was simple: there was no plan.” Such was the premise behind maverick musical adventurers extraordinaire, Nae Plans, aka fiddler Adam Sutherland and pianist/flautist/singer Hamish Napier. Distilling the essence of a traditional session, with its free-flowing interplay between shared repertoire and in-the-moment spontaneity, Nae Plans gigs involve no set-list, no pre-discussion of material at all. The pair simply sit down together, take a deep breath, and go where the music takes them.
Tonight they host a truly mighty gathering of like-minded dynamic duos, all ready and raring to go for whatever a Nae Plans party might bring, Among the guest-list are Jenna Reid and Harris Playfair, Mairearad Green and Mike Vass, Jenn Butterworth and John Somerville, and Charlie Grey and Joseph Peach. Besides each duo strutting their stuff individually, plenty of musical mingling seems more than likely – and given the collective wealth of musicianship involved, a spectacular finale is guaranteed.
