“An increasingly rare beast in the 21 st century, a progressive rock act that is ‘progressive’ in a meaningful way” - RnR Magazine
With their new critically acclaimed album Mesmeranto entering the official rock charts at No.18 and being voted No.4 in Top 10 albums of 2019 by New York’s Big Takeover mag, inspirational, award-winning creative music pioneers The Blackheart Orchestra take rock to a new, unexplored dimension. Described as “A mesmerising powerhouse” “An avant-garde musical utopia” and “One of the most extraordinary voices singing anywhere today” multi-instrumentalists Chrissy Mostyn and Rick Pilkington combine their classical influences with acoustic instruments, vintage synthesisers, percussion and ultra-contemporary electronica to create music that takes over the senses.
Emotionally charged and musically accomplished, expect sublime harmonies, beautiful guitar, piano and synthesiser playing and song-writing and arrangements that take the audience “from heart-breaking to uplifting in a single song”. With awards including No.8 Best Female Vocalist, Best British Duo, Limelight Progressive Music Award Nomination, voted in the UK’s Top 4 Best New Bands of 2019, plus performances at the London Palladium and Royal Albert Hall, The Blackheart Orchestra are two voices and thirteen instruments that create a unique musical experience that is truly ground-breaking.
