Showcasing abstract and figurative paintings relating to memory and specifically to personal and collective memories of growing up in the 1970s, ReCollection is the first exhibition and Degree Show by emerging artist, Alison McCoy.
The collection of paintings will be shown at 40 Fox Street, Glasgow, G1 4EQ (behind the St. Enoch Centre) from the 29th of April until the 7th of May from 12.00 – 4.30pm daily.
Prompted by memories of family holidays in the Northeast of Scotland and, more generally, of a childhood growing up in Glasgow, the artist curates a mixture of small figurative works and large abstracts in oils.
Using memories of scenes from her childhood holidays spent in an old fisherman’s cottage and from the small harbour at the end of the street, she produces large abstract paintings of zoomed-in, partially remembered details of these recalled locations.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
