What will happen during the workshop?
You will be introduced to the basic techniques of textile screen printing, using blank screens and paper stencils to create prints. You will have the chance to experiment and create a range of samples, focussing on colour, shape and texture. You will then move on to print a personalised tote bag.
I have never done screen printing before, can I come?
Of course - the workshop is suitable for all skills levels. Everyone is welcome and no previous experience is necessary. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult, with both booking a ticket. The Deep End is a fully accessible venue.
Equipment Provided:
Equipment and materials such as screens, squeegees, a range of ink colours, newsprint paper, cutting mats and knives are all included. We will also provide fabric samples and a tote bag, however you are welcome to bring any additional fabric for printing along with you - natural fabrics such as a plain cotton or linen give the best results. Likewise if you have a garment which you would like to print your design onto, you are welcome to bring that along too!
Your Tutor:
