Taking place on Thursday 25th September, more than 100 full-time, part-time, and seasonal roles will be available, with representatives from a range of retailers and restaurants available to discuss the opportunities as well as provide further information and helpful advice for potential applicants.
The event is part of the centre’s long-term partnership with Easterhouse-based charity FARE Scotland to support young people within the community through its free employability programme delivered from the centre.
The programme supports individuals with finding work placements and accessing relevant training, including Scottish Qualification Authority certified courses such as first aid and health and safety.
The latest data from the Office of National Statistics Annual Population Survey shows that Glasgow’s overall unemployment rate for those aged 16 and over is 4.6% - notably higher than the Scottish average of 3.3% (data collected March 2025)[i]. Events like the Glasgow Fort Jobs Fair are therefore more important than ever in helping to provide opportunity for young people throughout the city and beyond.
The jobs fair will take place at the FARE Skills & Community pop up unit - located outside Poundland - from 10am to 4pm. A wide range of roles will be available across sectors including retail, hospitality, social care, childcare, customer service and healthcare.
Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort, said: “It’s fantastic to welcome such a strong line-up of retailers and organisations to this year’s jobs fair - all coming together to connect with local talent and offer real opportunities.
“We’re passionate about supporting young people within our community, and with many facing barriers to employment events like this help build confidence, offer guidance and open up new possibilities. At the same time, with ongoing recruitment challenges across several sectors, it’s a great chance for employers to engage with emerging talent and invest in their future workforce.
“We’d encourage anyone looking for a new opportunity, career advice or simply a conversation about what’s out there to come along, meet the employers and chat to the FARE Scotland team about the brilliant work they do.”
Skills Development Scotland - a career service organisation based at the Hub every Wednesday and Thursday - will also be available on the day to offer free careers guidance and employability support.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
