Emma’s debut photography exhibition ‘Off the Beaten Track’, invites us to forgo the conventional and explore the undiscovered paths of Loch Lomond and delve into the hidden cultural gems that make the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh sparkle.
Commenting on her first photography exhibition, amateur photographer Emma Flood said: “Off the Beaten Track is about looking for things off the tourist map that catch my eye. Glasgow and Edinburgh are such beautiful cities and they each have hidden gems and there are new images from Loch Lomond where I was brought up. My favourite image from the collection is the front of the Elephant House Café in Edinburgh. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and the photo means a lot to me. Everywhere is full of great photo opportunities. I love looking in unconventional places and thanks to Skypark, I hope that people will get the chance to enjoy them.”
Skypark’s strategic lettings advisor Angela Higgins of Resonance Capital said: “It’s great to welcome Emma Flood’s collection that celebrates the unconventional in Skypark’s donated gallery. We are avid supporters of the Glasgow arts scene and are pleased to be able to offer artists the chance to exhibit their work by donating exhibition space. Both new and established artists are welcome to get in touch with their ideas.”
The exhibition – that includes an image of Edinburgh’s ‘Elephant Café’ a popular haunt of Harry Potter fans and where JK Rowling is said to have penned some of the story – runs to 30 June, is free and open to the public from 9-5pm. A public opening event will take place on Tuesday 11th of April, 12-1pm.
