Glasgow's city centre is gearing up for a feel-good fitness event as The Social Hub becomes the only central venue in town to take part in the Wings for Life World Run this May.

The Wings for Life World Run, taking place on Sunday 4th May at 12pm, is a unique global fundraising event where everyone runs simultaneously – no matter where they are in the world.

The concept is simple: participants download the official Wings for Life app, lace up, and try to outrun the virtual Catcher Car. Once it catches you, your run is over.

Leading the way from Glasgow’s city centre will be Antoine and Joel, student leaders of The Social Hub’s regular Run Club.

The route will start and finish at The Social Hub Glasgow, with a scenic loop taking runners through Glasgow Green and along the River Clyde.

All participants will receive a goodie bag filled with exclusive discount codes for Stretched - Scotland’s first clinically led independent assisted stretch studio - including offers for both stretch sessions and the contract therapy suite. Plus, one lucky winner will enjoy a complimentary 50-minute stretch, while the runner-up will receive a 25-minute stretch session.

As part of a wider initiative run by Red Bull, all 21 Social Hubs across Europe will be taking part.

Participants can expect refreshments before, during, and after the run, as well as on-the-day photography and videography to capture the energy and spirit of the occasion. Once the running shoes are off, everyone will be treated to some well-deserved snacks and celebrations.

“We’re so excited to be hosting a Wings for Life App Run here at The Social Hub Glasgow, it's part of a global fundraising initiative by Red Bull to support spinal cord research. All 21 of our hubs across Europe will be taking part on Sunday, and it’s shaping up to be a really special event.

“The event is open to all, whether you’re a regular runner or just fancy being part of something meaningful and fun.”

100% of entry fees go directly towards spinal cord research, helping to find a cure for spinal cord injuries, a cause that impacts thousands globally.
