Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play

It's the end of the world: the grid is down, loved ones are uncontactable and the survivors are unsure how many miles lie between themselves and nuclear collapse. So they turn to The Simpsons...

Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play

About Mr. Burns, a Post-Electric Play

In this dark comedy, a frame-by-frame retelling of the “Cape Feare” episode becomes mythologised – over 75 years – into an absurd act of hopefulness and human persistence. There will be singing. There will be dancing. There will be a lot of Simpsons references.

Anne Washburn’s excellent, thought-provoking play challenges us to reconsider which stories shape us, and how we can use them to find courage in the strangest of situations, ultimately asking the vital question: what does it mean to keep going when everything else is destroyed?
