Environmental scientist Laura Young shares what she’s learned about bridging the gap between research and public understanding. As the lead behind the SAGES Climate Science Podcast, Laura explores how complex science can be made more accessible, engaging and action focused. With regular appearances in national media, a strong social media presence and as an award winning environmental campaigner, Laura was selected for the BBC Creator Lab programme and named Scottish Influencer of the Year 2024/25. In this talk she will reflect on her experience creating the podcast, explore how public engagement can strengthen climate action and consider how a small communications project might be the start of something much bigger.
