Open water swimming plays a pivotal role in many great narratives, from Homer’s Odyssey to the work of contemporary writers, poets, and memoirists like Amy Liptrot and Iris Murdoch. Take Me to the River is an homage to stories that plunge us to greater depths. Journalists and co-authors Vicky Allan and Jackie Kemp discuss the myriad themes that surface in this fabulous selection of joyful, immersive, and life-affirming writing about wild swimming. What can we learn from the swimmers of the past, as well as from the world of contemporary wild swimming?
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
