Nordoff and Robbins, the UK’s largest music therapy charity, has today announced that pop duo Hue and Cry and chart-topping Nathan Evans and The Saint PHNX Band will perform as part of its first ever Scottish Carol Service, Presented by OVO, taking place at Kelvinside Hillhead Parish Church, Glasgow, on Thursday 11 December, from 6.30pm.

The inaugural Scottish Carol Service will be held at the striking 150-year-old Glaswegian church, raising money to support Nordoff and Robbins in delivering more transformational music therapy sessions in Scotland, helping people to break through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation.

Billed as an evening filled with traditional carol singing, festive readings and star performances, tickets are available now via Nordoff and Robbins, priced at £25, including a souvenir brochure, mulled wine and mince pie.

Since 1997, Nordoff and Robbins has hosted a Carol Service in London which has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for its essential music therapy services, supporting people who have dementia, learning difficulties, mental health issues, physical injuries, disabilities, terminal illness or autism, across the UK. Performers at the London Carol Service have included Annie Lennox and Sir Rod Stewart.

Set to deliver a special stripped-back performance at the Scottish Carol Service, Hue and Cry recently received the Outstanding Achievement Award at this year’s GUITARGUITAR Scottish Music Awards that took place on Saturday November 8 at the Barrowlands. Formed in 1984, the duo made a huge impact with the release of their debut album Seduced and Abandoned, which featured their first top ten single Labour of Love. The follow up album Remote continued the trend and produced the huge hits such as Looking for Linda and Violently. To date, Hue and Cry have sold more than two million records and have sold tens of thousands of concert tickets worldwide. Having recently impressed audiences throughout their 40th Anniversary tour in 2024, the band are currently writing new music and continue to perform live.

Nathan Evans and The Saint PHNX Band were crowned Artist of the Year at the 2025 GUITARGUITAR Scottish Music Awards. Following Airdrie singer-songwriter Nathan’s viral sea shanty success, he hooked up with Saint PHNX brothers Alan and Stevie Jukes to write hits like Heather On The Hill, Highland Girl and Flowers In The Water, blending Scottish folk roots with anthemic pop energy. With the alchemic partnership now formalised on singles Arabella and Cotton Eye Joe, the combo has become a powerful live force, as witnessed at a triumphant TRNSMT Main Stage set this summer and a sold-out debut arena show at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro this October, confirming Nathan Evans and The Saint PHNX Band as one of Scotland’s most dynamic musical success stories.

In 2024, Nordoff and Robbins supported almost 9,000 people with over 1,750 music therapy sessions across Scotland, working alongside 70 organisations such as care homes, schools and hospitals to provide music therapy.

This year, for the first time, Nordoff and Robbins has launched a range of sustainable, music-themed Christmas apparel. The collection includes adult jumpers and tote bags featuring festive designs including ‘Merry Riffmas’ and ‘Away in a Major’, plus a variety of children’s tops with slogans such as ‘Little Drummer Joy’ and ‘Rockstar in the Making’. All designs are available now at nordoff-and-robbins.teemill.com
