Join Artist Joanna Twaites for a Pinhole Photography workshop in the iconic Provan Hall, a 16th century mansion house steeped in history and inspiration.
The workshop will begin with a tour of the house, and tales of past residents whose ghosts are rumoured to haunt the site to this day.
You then will be introduced to the processes of pinhole photography:
-How to assemble a DIY camera
-Using your camera to successfully expose an image
-Developing a negative on photographic paper in a dark room
After the demonstration you will then have time to explore the house and garden using the camera to capture and develop unique images, with Joanna on hand to guide you through the processes.
Each participant will be given a pinhole camera to work with and photographic paper to experiment capturing the Provan hall and the surrounding scenery using this early photographic method.
Pinhole cameras are known for capturing visions of ghosts and spirits - and as Provan Hall is notoriously haunted, well, perhaps something spooky will turn up in the dark...
All materials are provided and no experience is necessary
Due to the nature of Provan Hall's historic status the building is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.
