About FREE Lochlea vs Douglas Laing Head-to-Head In-Store Tasting

We have a special event for you to help kick-off your Christmas weekend celebrations: a Head-to-Head tasting with Fiona from Douglas Laing and Alex from Lochlea! Sample some superb whiskies and vote on your favourites, and there may be some treats in store for you, too.

Douglas Laing & Co.:
Established in 1948, by Fred Douglas Laing, Douglas Laing & Co. is a proudly independent, family-owned Scotch Whisky business in its third generation. Over 70 years of heritage have helped them to refine their processes and deliver consistently exceptional Whiskies.

Abiding by the philosophy of presenting Whisky as the Distiller intended, they add nothing and take nothing away from their spirit, enabling Whisky lovers around the world to come as close as they possibly can to sampling a dram straight from the Cask.

Lochlea Distillery:
Lochlea started life as a cattle farm, but in 2015 the team of Lochlea Distillery embarked on an experiment, growing 50 acres of malting barley and slowly gaining the experience to develop and operate a single malt distillery in 2018. Since then, they have been growing the barley on-site, and the distillery team have been skilfully and patiently making spirit.

This year saw the release of Lochlea's new core range of Single Estate bottlings. This range expands on what they learned from the concluded Seasonal Releases, refined with fresh cask choices, more complex recipes, and an elevated presentation. Each expression is crafted from their own barley, distilled and matured entirely on-site in the heart of Ayrshire.
