Call to Stage theatre company presents an intimate, visually poetic reimagining of Spring Awakening at the CCA Glasgow this February - a powerful contemporary rock musical about youth, censorship and the cost of forbidden knowledge.
Set in an oppressive, conservative community, the story follows a group of teenagers who are beginning to question the world they’ve been raised in. Their teachers and parents offer rules instead of guidance, silence instead of answers, and punishment instead of understanding - leaving the young people to navigate emerging emotions, desires and fears entirely of their own.
Call to Stage’s production brings this story to life within a world built from paper, pages and blank canvases. As the characters navigate first love, friendship, fear and confusion, they’re forced to confront a society that offers them no guidance. Their journey is tender, messy and heartbreaking.
Featuring a cast of both new and experienced community theatre Glasgow performers, Spring Awakening blends truthful acting with a contemporary rock score that moves from quiet introspection to explosive emotional release. It’s a musical that feels both classic and fiercely modern, raw and unforgettable.
With an intimate staging - book your tickets early to avoid disappointment!
