Aja, Bison Hip And Lynsey Dolan Band

About Aja, Bison Hip And Lynsey Dolan Band

This is a value-for-money triple band bill appearing in the stunning surroundings of Cottiers Theatre in Glasgow’s West End. There is a variety of genres and a guaranteed high standard of musicians from some of Scotland’s finest.

Aja! is an 8-piece Scottish band dedicated to performing the music of Steely Dan with the energy, precision, and authenticity it deserves. The collective brings together professional musicians from across Scotland- all at the top of their game. The lineup features a three-part vocal team, horn section, and full rhythm section. Between them, the members have toured internationally, played major festivals and iconic venues, and shared stages and studios with legendary artists across genres. The show is high-energy and meticulously crafted, replicating Steely Dan’s arrangements with the level of detail and musicality fans expect, while leaving room for the kind of improvisation that brings the music to life on stage.

Aja! A Steely Dan Tribute performs a mix of hits, deep cuts, and fan favourites from across the band’s discography. Steely Dan were known as the perfect musical antiheroes of the 1970s, blending jazz, rock, Latin, funk, R&B and blues with razor-sharp lyrics and obsessive studio perfectionism. Aja! A Steely Dan Tribute exists to honour that legacy- approaching the music with the same respect for detail and performance that Walter Becker and Donald Fagen demanded, treating every arrangement with care and accuracy. Aja! had a successful run 2025 Edinburgh Fringe Festival to instant acclaim, with a run of sold-out shows and glowing praise from audiences. This will be the band’s debut appearance in Glasgow.

Bison Hip emerged from the lockdowns of 2020, 5 lifelong friends who have since released two critically acclaimed albums of original material (‘Welcome to the Rest of Your Life’ and ‘Everything that Came Before was Leading up to This’). Bison Hip continue to prove that it’s never too late to rock with soul, swagger, and a story to tell. Hot on the heels of 2024’s acclaimed album ‘Welcome To The Rest Of Your Life’, the band have unleashed their third full-length record: ‘Everything That Came Before Was Just Leading Up To This’ – a title that perfectly captures their journey so far. Bison Hip bring together five seasoned musicians with a mission to craft authentic blues-rock that reflects real life and lived experience. “We’ve never tried to be anything we’re not,” says frontman Paul Sloway. “This new album feels like the culmination of everything we’ve worked towards.” This is also a band that deliver live performances that delight audiences – don’t miss them!

The Lynsey Dolan Band is the kind of band you discover and immediately want to tell everyone about! The band plays original music that hits you right in the chest, blending blues with a modern edge. Lynsey’s voice is the heart of it – raw and powerful. Her backing trio has an energy and skill that you can’t ignore. The band is rooted in classic blues and rock with a double measure of Glasgow soul. This is another outfit that excel in the live setting.
